And Now the Bad News

Every Member has agreed when ledgering to use Running Ledgers. If anyone is in doubt, please check our Rules and also go online to www.manor-fisheries.co.uk/fixed-or-running-ledgers to understand why we insist on the use of Running Ledgers.

This month eight tangled lines were removed from the Lake 1 (Carp) island vegetation including the DEATH rig below:

DEATH Rig (including micro barb hook with yellow boilie)

Fixed Welded Eye in the lead for connecting the hook link

This dangerous bolt rig is completely unacceptable and any angler using this setup will be banned without refund, redress or appeal.

Try Tying your Own

Several Cats have been lost due to the straightening of poor-quality hooks. Hooks for Lake 2 (Carp/Catfish) should be barbless and forged (not wire or Cat hooks). A strong hook with a larger eye than most brands (good for making hair rigs); that is competitively priced, can be sourced from Wicked Rigs (Hand Made in the UK).

Wicked Rigs is an eBay seller (kevash123uk) and their eBay ID is: 192301880534.

Tying your own hair rig or hook length gives a greater sense of achievement compared to using a pre-made “packaged” version and should be more reliable than some of the expensive “packaged” offerings generally available.
